Mandala = Sacred Geometry and Art - Symbolic of Human Consciousness
Quote: by Jaswinder Challi “I had a De Ja Vu feeling that I remember this place, this feeling, this similarity, and I have come back to it...........only, this time I am more knowledgeable and wise, that is the gift of coming round full circle, from beginning to end”.
The word Mandala comes from the Ancient Indian Sanskrit Language and is explained in the Sacred Texts of the Rig Veda as being a chapter, a cycle, a container of essences such as collections of mantras or hymns chanted in ceremonies related to a journey of the individual souls relationship to self and the Universe.
The word Mandala is derived from the root meaning essence, and the suffix giving a connotation or attribution to that essence as the patterns are rippled within the being/s and universe with designs, shapes, images and sub-conscious insight through dreams etc.
They are also around in natural beauty such as flowers like the sunflower (interesting that we have the Sun in our solar system and then a flower called the sunflower!).
Symbolically, mandalas can be likened to a spider’s web, (hence the web that we weave too!)
From Hinduism, The Lord Buddha raised huge awareness into the consciousness of Mandalas and their therapeutic work, this was also later adopted by Tibetans and into the West by Carl Jung.
Mandalas have been used in the East for many centuries as a meditative tool for inner knowledge and guidance. Including, Mythological stories and Archetypes and Symbolism. A very sacred tool for Initiation and Spiritual development and Consciousness.
It is the transformational symbol from the concept of the Hindu deities – Shiva-Shakti. This includes the aspects of the Masculine and Femine (Goddess), being interlinked and the power this creates.
Journey’s of Endings/Beginnings/Rebirth through the Transformation.
This also includes the cylcle of Birth and Death in Reincarnations.
The Centre of the Mandala itself is the Reality point of consciousness. All the energy flowing out into the circle as the consciousness expands and develops, however, the return is always there, the centre will always remain. (This has been my experience of things, hence the quote above.) In India Hindu’s wear the dot on their foreheads to mark the physical appearance with the third eye connecting to the vast inner consciousness.
Within one Circle of a Journey, many others go on at the same time, as some are longer than others, hence you would have Mandalas within Mandalas and there would be different completion times happening.
Diwali (Victory over Evil) is a time of celebrations of the Victory of Light and many Mandalas are created as part of the celebrations.
This celebration of creating Mandalas is also carried out at weddings, births and religious occasions.
We are now in a time of Evolution where Mandalas are being created all around the globe by many for healing and consciousness expansion, we are rapidly moving together to bring in more light.

Circles
The moon is most happy When it is full.
And the sun always looks Like a perfectly minted gold coin
That was just Polished And placed in flight By God's playful Kiss.
And so many varieties of fruit Hang plump and round
From branches that seem like a Sculptor's hands.
I see the beautiful curve of a pregnant belly Shaped by a soul within,
And the Earth itself, And the planets and the Spheres¬
I have gotten the hint: There is something about circles The Beloved likes.
Hafiz,
Within the Circle of a Perfect One There is an Infinite CommunityOf Light.—

This is used as a vessel for ‘holding, supporting and sustaining the energy’ of the Mandala, as some in some cases the concept of ‘restraint’ may be needed.
